During the time I made this painting, I found myself returning to the grounding clarity of realism, while also leaning into the freedom that imagination allows. I was drawn to that quiet balance between observing the world as it is and reshaping it through feeling rather than strict accuracy. I had missed the surreal element in my paintings.
