I was feeling really unwell that day. Minha mãe said, “arte vai te curar” — art will heal you.
She took me to see an exhibition at the most beautiful place, Casa Roberto Marinho. He donated the grounds to support local arts and education when he passed.
As we walked through the garden, what struck me most were the shadows of the heavy trees cast against the blossom-pink building — the shapes and contrasts were stunning.
The grounds were beautifully kept, yet the trees still towered over us like a thick wave just about to break.
I had spent a month in Brazil visiting family and friends, hoping to reconnect and find inspiration in a place my heart feels so deeply tied to. It’s always refreshing to return after time away — even through difficult moments.
As I get older, time seems to move faster. It’s a reminder to feel gratitude for the time we do have.
I find that painting these quiet, thoughtful moments helps solidify them. It turns the art into a personal journey — one I think many people can relate to 🌟
