During a moment of feeling overwhelmed, I needed something to bring me back to the present and help me re-centre. I decided to create a small, fun challenge for myself, something I could place all of my attention into.
Without looking at any references and using purely imagination… I wanted to create a landscape I’d want to be looking at right now… using only one brush!
The limitation helped me stop focusing on detail and instead tune into the shapes and the feeling I wanted to evoke.
I imagined the cold wind against my cheeks, the sky slowly turning to night, mountains resting in the distance, and water flowing effortlessly into a glassy lake.
It felt meditative, using my imagination and focus to create this scene, bringing something that didn’t exist into life.
