Reflecting on a Memory brings together different places and moments that hold personal meaning. The scene within the mirror is formed from combined photographs of the Twelve Apostles in Australia, while the ornate frame references a mirror from my room at home in England, that once belonged to my mum. Together, these elements create a space where distance collapses and memory becomes present.

The work grew from a moment of stillness while looking into the mirror, where reflections began to layer and soften. I imagined memories surfacing through the glass, past experiences viewed indirectly, shaped by time and feeling rather than clarity.

The mirror acts as a lens rather than a window, suggesting how we often understand memory: not as something fixed, but as something we revisit, reinterpret, and carry with us. Through this piece, I invite the viewer to pause and consider how places, objects, and moments continue to exist within us, even as we move away from them.
