This painting came together through a playful and intuitive process, allowing forms to shift and evolve naturally across the surface. I was interested in how repeated shapes and flowing lines could create a sense of movement and softness, almost as if the painting was breathing.
Working in layers gave me space to explore colour relationships and rhythm, letting familiar elements reappear in new ways. The process felt light and open, guided by curiosity rather than outcome, and the piece became a space for experimentation... where observation, memory, and imagination could merge.
Inspired by the layered bark of the rainbow eucalyptus, the work takes its title from the tree’s native name.
