This painting idea came to me after a sleepless night during the full moon, the kind of night where everything feels heightened. She always seems to magnify emotions, creating this intense feeling of shift and change physically, emotionally, internally.
Even in my restlessness, there’s something so beautiful about the fascination I feel whenever the moon appears. I spent the night awake, unable to sleep, with that familiar urge to return into the bright night and just sit with her glow for a while.
‘Liminal’ is also about that transition between states where the mind feels somewhat awake but drifting into a different state of being.
I’m no longer in the old situation, but I haven’t quite arrived at the new one either.
