The movement of the piece held a hypnotic quality during its creation, which inspired its name. As I worked, my awareness of time faded, allowing me to fully escape through making. The process became deeply meditative, a sensation that felt like flight. My intention was to have texture, to create depth within the colours. Using the same image of a eucalyptus bark as inspiration for my paintings over and over again, I create something unique in every piece.
