This piece came from experimenting with loose canvas, using texture and light to guide the viewer into the cabin. I wanted it to feel like an invitation, slowly drawing you inside.
I titled the work Come In as an offering of warmth and stillness. While living in a cabin in Victoria, Australia, we spent so much time outside—watching sunsets and looking up at the stars. When it got colder, we would come back in and sit by the fire, feeling calm and held by the warmth. Secretly, we would hope for cooler evenings, just so we could be there together, settled by the fire.
